Today I am remembering one of the greatest men I have ever known. My great-uncle Richie was a big man, with big hands, a big voice, a big smile, a big laugh, a big heart. He was married to my great-aunt Katherine for over 60 years. He was my Papa’s little brother, and my mother’s godfather. He built his beautiful lake home over many, many years with his own two big hands. He drove his speed boat and his Buick really, really fast. Though no children of his own, he showered all of his nieces and nephews with as much love as any father could give. One year ago we lost him. He made each day of his 89 years a great day for everyone around him.
And, he was a great dance partner…
I will always love and miss you. Enjoy your rest… you’ve earned it.
